Identification Documents

As part of our requirements to adhere to the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010 (as amended) we are required to establish the identity of individuals with whom we have a relationship. This is known as Customer Due Diligence.

To meet this requirement, we are requesting that you provide a copy of proof of identity and proof of address. Please see detailed below the acceptable forms of identification and proof of address.

Acceptable forms of Identification [ID] – Must be in date

You can use any one of the following:

  • Your current valid passport [front & back]

  • Your current valid Irish, UK or European driver’s licence (with photo)

  • Irish Residence Permit [if applicable]

  • National Identity Card [if applicable]

All of the above must be in your own name. If you do not have any of the above documents, please contact us to discuss alternative options.

Acceptable forms of proof of address – Must be dated within last 6 months

You can provide any one of the following:

  • A utility bill (dated within the last 6 months) e.g. gas or electricity bill

  • A bank statement (dated within the last 6 months)

  • Government correspondence – any department [e.g. Tax Credits Certificate]

  • Insurance Documentation [home, life or health]

  • Correspondence from National Driver Licence Service [NDLS]

  • TV License

  • Motor tax Notice

All of the above must be in your own name and address. If you do not have any of the above documents, please contact us to discuss alternative options.

How to Submit Your Documents:

Option 1 - Upload via ID-Pal:

You can upload your documents securely using ID-Pal, our trusted digital verification service. Simply click here and you will be guided to upload your photo ID and proof of address. You will also be asked to take a quick photo of yourself using your mobile phone which allows a biometric check to confirm the ID belongs to you. 

The photo is used only to verify your identity, and a copy is securely retained with your identification documents.  The process is fully encrypted and typically takes just a few minutes.

Option 2 - Send via Email or Post:

If you prefer, you can send scanned copies to us via email or post using the contact details provided below.

Please ensure documents are clear, legible, and easy to read.  Under no circumstances should original documents be sent into Mars Capital Finance Ireland DAC.
